Who are we?

Ecolibri – Bionet is non-governmental, non-profitable, expert and internationally recognized organization, which was established in 1996, as Agency for Biodiversity and Sustainable Development, by the group of eminent biologists, and authors of the monograph ‘’Biological diversity of Yugoslavia with the overview of internationally important species’’. Ideological creator, founder and first President of the Management Board was Mr. Jovan Angelus (1938-2007). Since then, up to the present days, this organization has gained high national and international reputation based on its expert and scientific approach in all projects regarding environment and sustainable development. Focal point of the organization activities are projects dedicated to nature conservation and protected natural resources, restraining biological diversity from fading away with special effort to activate sustainable socio-economic development of local communities in Republic of Serbia, with full respect of the principles of sustainable natural resources use and development in whole.
“Ecolibri-Bionet” gained international reputation with its projects, and therefore, recommended to IUCN (International Union for Nature Conservation), and became its member as the first non-government organization in Serbia, in 2000.
